Today, Congressman Rob Wittman and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood announced the introduction of a House Concurrent Resolution to honor public health professionals. Wittman and Underwood serve as co-chairs of the Congressional Public Health Caucus.

Congressman Wittman expressed his appreciation for public health professionals, drawing from his own experience in the field. "Before serving in Congress, I earned a master’s degree in public health and spent over 26 years working for the Virginia Department of Health," said Wittman. He emphasized the vital role these professionals play in maintaining national health and safety, noting their resilience amid challenges.

The resolution was introduced on November 25, 2024, designated as "Public Health Thank You Day." It aims to commend those working tirelessly in public health for their dedication and service.
