Towson’s Fast Start Propels Tigers to CAA Quarterfinal Win
Third-seeded Towson built a big early lead and never let up, beating No. 6 Delaware, 86-60, in the final quarterfinal game of the 2023 Jersey Mike’s CAA Men’s Basketball Championship on Sunday night at the Entertainment & Sports Arena.
The Tigers (21-11) advance to the semifinals against No. 2 Charleston on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. The setback dropped Delaware to 17-16.
Senior Nicolas Timberlake paced four Towson players in double figures with 19 points on 8-of-11 FG shooting and added nine rebounds and five assists. Charles Thompson tallied 17 points, Sekou Sylla scored 16 off the bench and Cam Holden contributed 14 points and six assists.
