Cheswick Park renovations are underway 

Cheswick Park is receiving $2.1 million in improvements thanks to Henrico voters' support of the 2016 bond referendum. John Zannino, director of the Division of Recreation & Parks, reflects on Cheswick's prominence as Henrico's first official park and details what residents can expect when it reopens in early 2024.

"It's really exciting to be able to come in and touch the first park," Zannino said. "This is really what put us on the map in the land business and opening parks. To be able to come back and completely renovate, bring up to current code, add some new features, in the fitness equipment, is exciting because this is a heavily utilized park. The neighborhood and community really enjoy this park."
