CAA Football Three Things To Watch In Week 12
Rivalry games in the CAA always mean a lot, but this year's contests have title implications. #8 William & Mary (9-1, 6-1 CAA) visits #11 Richmond (8-2, 6-1 CAA) in the 133rd Capital Cup, with the winner earning at least a share of their first conference title since 2015. #18 New Hampshire (7-3, 6-1 CAA) heads to Maine (2-8, 2-5 CAA) in the 110th Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket needing a win to claim a share of the CAA title for the first time since 2014. Two other games have playoff implications as Delaware (7-3, 4-3 CAA) goes to Villanova (5-5, 3-4 CAA) for the Battle of the Blue and Rhode Island (6-4, 4-3 CAA) hosts UAlbany (3-7, 2-5 CAA). Towson (5-5, 3-4 CAA) brings a three-game win streak into its game with Hampton (4-6, 1-6 CAA) and Monmouth (4-6, 2-5 CAA) entertains Stony Brook (2-8, 1-6 CAA).
New Hampshire, Richmond and William & Mary enter Week 12 tied for first place in the CAA with 6-1 records. Should UNH and UR finish as CAA co-champions at 7-1, the Spiders would receive the automatic bid to the FCS playoffs based on their head-to-head win. Should UNH and W&M finish at CAA co-champions at 7-1, the automatic bid would be determined on point differential in conference games. The FCS playoff selection show will air Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on ESPNU.Get ready for all of Saturday's action with the Week 12 edition of Three Things To Watch.
