VA U.S. House District 7 issued the following announcement on Dec. 15
This week, U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger hosted an open, public telephone town hall focused on issues facing Central Virginia’s families, seniors, and economy.
At the start of the event, Spanberger discussed how Virginia will strongly benefit from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was signed into law last month. During the course of the town hall, she answered questions directly from Central Virginia residents on a wide range of topics — including the Build Back Better framework, border security, supply chain challenges, inflation, mental health services, and trade.

“Virginians demonstrate a tremendous amount of care for their Commonwealth and are passionate about the issues that matter to their neighbors. During Monday’s event, I experienced that tremendous level of engagement firsthand, as I had the honor to hear directly from our communities. As we rebuild our economy, I recognize that we still face many challenges in the wake of the pandemic — including increased prices at the grocery store, gas pump, and in other everyday expenses. These concerns are top of mind for so many here in the Seventh District,” said Spanberger. “I was grateful for the opportunity to share an update with thousands of Central Virginians about my work in Congress to combat inflation, support working families, lower drug costs, and get our economy moving again. Wednesday’s telephone town hall was Spanberger’s 20th open, public telephone town hall since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. These events have generally focused on the impacts of the virus on Central Virginia families, healthcare professionals, small businesses, veterans, students, and seniors.
