Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) released a statement following the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

"Today marks a new day in America," said Wittman. He referenced challenges faced over the past four years, including economic struggles, high gas and grocery prices, issues at the southern border with fentanyl, and global unrest affecting America's international standing. "The American people spoke and delivered a mandate for change."

Wittman highlighted that with Republican majorities in both houses of Congress and the presidency, there is an opportunity to create significant changes. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with colleagues from both parties to accomplish what he described as "the work of the nation."

He extended well wishes to President Trump and Vice President Vance, hoping for "good health and sound judgment" as they lead efforts to improve economic conditions, secure borders, and enhance America's global influence. Wittman emphasized his commitment to working with their administration for the benefit of Virginia’s First District residents and all Americans.

"May God bless America," concluded Wittman.
