Today, Congressman Rob Wittman of Virginia's First District was sworn into the 119th Congress. Following the ceremony, Wittman issued a statement expressing his commitment to serving the people of Virginia's Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula, Historic Triangle, and Richmond suburbs.
Wittman emphasized his dedication to addressing key issues such as lowering living costs, enhancing public safety, and improving opportunities for children. He stated his intention to push for legislation that ensures government accountability, supports veterans, expands access to affordable education and technical training, and conserves natural resources.
He highlighted the potential for cooperation with Republican leadership in revitalizing the economy, securing borders, and rebuilding America's global standing. Wittman criticized what he described as "the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration" but reaffirmed his commitment to bipartisanship regardless of which party holds power.
"I will always put my district’s interests first while continuing to provide top-tier constituent services," Wittman said. "The people of Virginia’s First District deserve nothing less."
