Wittman votes for FY25 Military Construction-VA appropriations bill

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA) voted for H.R. 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2025. The bill aims to enhance the quality of life for military families, fully fund veterans’ healthcare, and invest in Virginia’s military communities while ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

“Our servicemembers and veterans have selflessly served our nation and defended our freedoms — it's time these heroes and their loved ones get the support and assistance they deserve,” said Congressman Wittman. “H.R. 8580 supports our military families, honors our commitment to veterans, promotes fiscal responsibility, and prevents government overreach. I was proud to vote for this critical funding, which will reverberate across the Commonwealth.”

Key Virginia projects funded by H.R. 8580 include:

- Defense Health Headquarters at Fort Belvoir: $225 million

- Dormitory at Joint Base Langley-Eustis: $81 million

- Barracks at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall: $180 million

- Horse Farm Land Acquisition at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall: $8.5 million

- Special Operations Forces Human Performance Training Center at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story: $32 million

- Child Development Center (Design) at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story: $2 million

- Child Development Center (Design) at Naval Air Station Oceana: $2 million

- Unaccompanied Housing (Design) at Naval Air Station Oceana: $16 million

- Containerized Long Weapons Storage Magazine at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown: $52.6 million

- Conventional Prompt Strike Test Facility at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown: $47.1 million

- CPS Weapons Maintenance, Operations & Storage Facility at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown: $52.1 million

- Dry Dock 3 Modernization (Incremental) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard: $54.4 million

- Metro Entrance Pedestrian Access Control Point at the Pentagon: $36.8 million

- Area Maintenance Support Activity/Vehicle Maintenance Shop in Richmond for the Army Reserve: $23 million
