Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) responded to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address by criticizing the impact of Biden's policies on American families. Wittman expressed his concerns, stating, "The impact of President Joe Biden's policies on American families has been detrimental from day one." He highlighted issues such as skyrocketing prices, violent crime surges, an unprecedented border crisis, and weakened national security.

Wittman further addressed the economic challenges faced by Americans, noting, “Americans are facing record-high gas and grocery bills, making it harder for families to put food on the table and fill up their gas tank." He criticized President Biden's claims about the success of 'Bidenomics,' pointing out the increased costs of daily necessities.

The Congressman also criticized Biden's border policies, stating, “President Biden has enabled the worst border crisis in American history." He emphasized the consequences of open border policies, including a rise in illegal border crossings, fentanyl-related deaths, and increased crime within communities.

Regarding national security, Wittman accused President Biden of weakening U.S. national security and emboldening adversaries. He mentioned various global events such as the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, Russia's actions in Europe, China's military buildup, and Iran's support for terror groups.

In conclusion, Wittman pledged to oppose policies that harm Virginians, work towards changing the culture in Washington, and advocate for the well-being of families, law enforcement officers, veterans, and U.S. service members in Virginia's First District.
