Colonial Athletic Association issued the following announcement on Sept. 9
As the 2021 NFL season gets ready to kick off on Thursday night, CAA Football will be well-represented.
There are 17 former CAA players on active NFL rosters, four players are on injured reserve and another 12 players are currently on practice squads. The 17 active players are spread across 13 different teams, with three competing for the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and two on both the Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears.
In addition to the 31 players associated with NFL teams, three head coaches are graduates of CAA schools – Buffalo’s Sean McDermott (William & Mary), Chicago’s Matt Nagy (Delaware) and Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin (William & Mary).
