Cathedral of the Sacred Heart issued the following announcement on Sept. 1
Our twin parish in Carissade, Haiti needs our help. Since July, Haiti suffered a presidential assassination, and was struck by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake and the tropical storm Grace. Our continued efforts at St. Paul's Church, school, and clinic have continued with minimal interruption, but they need our help. Please support our ministry by coming to Step-by-Step for Haiti walk-a-thon on Sept. 26, immediately following the 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 5:15 p.m. Masses. There will also be a second collection on the weekend of September 26 and 27 for those unable to walk on Sunday morning.
Start counting your steps beginning September 1, as whoever has the most steps by October 3 will win a $25 gift card to the Cathedral Gift Shop, which reopens on the weekend of October 9 and 10. You can also sponsor someone who is walking in solidarity for Haiti. More details to come.
