Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a new round of appointments to his administration and various state boards in Virginia. The appointments cover several sectors, including health and human resources, public safety, commerce, labor, natural resources, and education.

The Office of the Governor will see new personnel added under the health and human resources as well as public safety and homeland security departments. In the area of agriculture and forestry, appointments were made to the Milk Commission. Commerce and trade appointments include positions on the Virginia Gas and Oil Board and the Virginia Tourism Authority.

Within the Commonwealth category, members have been appointed to advisory boards such as the Virginia African American Advisory Board, Virginia Asian Advisory Board, and the Virginia Council on Women. The Southern Regional Education Board also received new appointees under compacts.

Health-related boards gaining new members include the Board of Dentistry and the State Child Fatality Review Team. An independent task force for identifying the history of formerly enslaved African Americans in Virginia was also among those receiving appointments.

Labor sector appointments include seats on both the Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation and the Virginia Board of Workforce Development. On legislative matters, new members were named to the Brown v. Board of Education Scholarship Awards Committee.

In natural and historic resources, individuals were appointed to serve on the Litter Control and Recycling Fund Advisory Board. The Criminal Justice Services Board under public safety and homeland security also saw changes in its membership.
