Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) issued a statement today regarding the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) report, which highlighted mismanaged surgical services and deficient quality management at Hampton VA Medical Center.

"I am disturbed to see the troubling findings in this report, including disregard for patient safety and failure to report multiple cases of substandard care," Wittman stated.

"Our brave U.S. service members and veterans have selflessly put their lives on the line to defend our country – the least we can do is provide them with quality medical care."

Wittman further emphasized his commitment to holding the VA accountable and conducting congressional oversight to ensure that military personnel receive the healthcare they deserve.
