ICYMI: Spanberger Hosts Telephone Town Hall Focused on Issues Facing Seventh District Families, Seniors, Businesses, & Veterans

U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger last night hosted another open, public telephone town hall to discuss issues Virginia families, seniors, and small businesses are facing.

During the event, Spanberger and Seventh District community members discussed some of the issues that matter most to Virginians. Topics included combatting rising costs, countering threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party, protecting benefits of retired federal employees, strengthening border security, and more. The Congresswoman also informed Virginians about bipartisan legislation she reintroduced last week to crack down on narcotics traffickers who are using illicit pill presses to manufacture counterfeit drugs.

More than 8,900 Virginians joined during Thursday night’s event. Click here for a full video recording of the event.

“Town hall events are one of the best ways for me to directly hear from constituents and incorporate their feedback into my legislative work,” said Spanberger. “They also give me the opportunity to highlight my work on behalf of the Seventh District to address the issues most pressing in our communities. Last night, I heard from Virginians about the challenges they are facing — from rising costs to the threats posed to our economy by the Chinese Communist Party. I’m thankful for the thousands of Virginians who took the time to call in and share their questions and concerns with me. I look forward to the next opportunity to discuss the issues and ways that we can improve our communities, our Commonwealth, and our country.”

Thursday’s event was Spanberger’s 45th open, public town hall event. These town halls have focused on a range of issues facing Virginia’s families, Veterans, seniors, small businesses, students, and healthcare professionals. Click here to watch full recordings of previous events.
