Colonial Athletic Association issued the following announcement on Feb. 28
The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse weekly awards have a Canadian theme on February 28, as the league office announced its recipients for the following last week’s performances. Delaware’s Mike Robinson was named CAA Player of the Week, while Drexel Max Semple earned CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mike Robinson, Delaware
Junior | Attack | Peterborough, Ontario, Canada / Culver Military Academy (Ind.)
Robinson helped Delaware to a 1-1 week, recording nine points on seven goals and two assists. On Saturday, he paced an impressive Blue Hen attack with seven points, netting five goals with a pair of assists as Delaware topped Monmouth 17-6. It marks the second occasion this season Robinson has tallied at least five goals and seven points in a game. Earlier in the week, the attackman added two goals in a battle with nationally-ranked Duke but Delaware ultimately fell in the contest.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Max Semple, Drexel
Redshirt Freshman | Attack | Coquitlam, B.C., Canada / Centennial
In his first week of collegiate action, Semple recorded seven points on seven goals in a 1-1 week for Drexel. In his Drexel debut, the British Columbia native tallied his first career hat trick and added five ground balls with one caused turnover despite a setback at Lafayette. He improved on his scoring effort against UAlbany, tallying four goals to help Drexel earn its first win of the season.
