Delaware held off Elon 65-61 Friday afternoon to keep pace in the conference standings and improve to 13-2 in CAA play. The Phoenix scored seven of the last ten points in the first quarter to take a 15-12 lead after one. Delaware flipped the script in the second, using a 13-2 run to grab momentum and a 25-19 lead. The second quarter proved to be the difference as the Blue Hens outscored Elon 17-10 and earned a four-point lead at the half, which was the final margin of victory. The Phoenix got within one in the fourth quarter after Evonna McGill capped a 7-0 run with an and-one opportunity; however, the Blue Hens responded by scoring six straight to put the game out of reach. Jasmine Dickey led a trio of Blue Hens in double figures with 25 points with 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double in the past eight games. Ty Battle recorded her 17th double-double this season, scoring 11 points with 10 rebounds, while Lizzie Oleary added 15 points and seven rebounds in the effort. Evonna McGill scored a career-high 21 points off the bench to lead the Phoenix, with Brie Perpignan adding 12 points and seven assists.
Northeastern 65, James Madison 52 | Box Score
Northeastern snapped a five-game skid, earning a season sweep over James Madison with a 65-52 victory Friday evening. The Huskies used a 16-1 run in the fourth to lift Northeastern after JMU got within one at the 6:20 mark of the quarter. Northeastern jumped out to a 36-25 lead at halftime after a hot shooting start. The Huskies shot 51.6% (15-29) in the first 20 minutes while holding JMU to 25.0% (8-32) shooting. The Dukes used a 10-2 run in the third to cut into the deficit and trailed by six at the end of the period. JMU scored the first five points of the fourth before Northeastern shut down the Dukes’ comeback attempt with the crucial run. Kendall Currence paced Northeastern, scoring a game-high 22 points. Gemima Motema added nine points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Huskies. Steph Ouderkirk tallied a team-high 13 points for JMU while Brianna Tinsley added 11. Northeastern held JMU to a season-low 25.8% (16-62) shooting, while the Huskies shot at a 42.1% (24-57) clip. The Dukes' previous season-low shooting percentage also came against Northeastern.
Drexel 63, William & Mary 43 | Box Score
Drexel topped William & Mary 63-43 to remain atop the CAA standings. The Dragons built an early lead after a hot shooting start and cruised to the finish. Drexel shot a blistering 84.6% (11-13) in the first quarter, assisting on eight of its 11 made field goals in the period to gain a 24-15 advantage. The defense intensified in the second as Drexel held the Tribe to five points in the quarter, taking a 36-20 advantage into halftime. Drexel kept the pressure on in the third, outscoring William & Mary 20-8 in the period to provide all the cushion the Dragons needed. Keishana Washington scored a game-high 20 points to lead Drexel, while Tessa Brugler added 18 points and seven rebounds. Hannah Nihill chipped in 12 points, eight assists and four steals for the Dragons. Dani McTeer and Kate Sramac each tallied nine points to lead William & Mary.
Towson 73, Hofstra 50 | Box Score
Towson set a program record for regular-season wins in a season, defeating Hofstra 73-50 to improve to 21-5 this season. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Towson led 20-8 after the first quarter and used a 10-0 run in the second to push its advantage to 30-10 before taking a 38-21 lead at halftime. Towson extended its margin with a 35-29 second-half scoring output as the Tigers outscored Hofstra in all four quarters. Allie Kubek recorded a game-high 18 points to lead Towson, while Aleah Nelson contributed 16 points, six assists and four rebounds. Kylie Kornegay-Lucas, Narrie Dodson and Skye Williams each added eight points off the bench, with Kornegya-Lucas grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds. Jalen Hines topped Hofstra with 13 points followed by Jaala Henry with 12. Towson held a 49-37 advantage on the glass and the Tigers bench outscored Hofstra 29-13 in the contest.
