Announcing $3,000 Early Spend Bonus for Spark Cash Plus

29

Capital One Bank USA National Association issued the following announcement on Jan. 25

Capital One today announced a limited time sign-up bonus for new Spark Cash Plus customers of up to $3,000; $500 once you spend $5,000 in the first 3 months, and $2,500 once you spend $50,000 in the first 6 months. Capital One developed the Spark Cash Plus card based on business owners’ desire for a card that provides flexible purchasing power with no preset spending limit, coupled with unlimited 2% cash back rewards, and now, new customers can earn a market-leading sign-up bonus of up to $3,000 to set their businesses up for success in 2022.

The Capital One Spark Cash Plus card rewards business owners for every purchase, and cardholders can also earn a $200 cash bonus for every year they spend $200,000 or more on the card. This pay-in-full card has no preset spending limit, so it can adapt to businesses’ needs based on their spending behavior, payment history, credit profile and other factors.

“It’s a privilege to build products that celebrate the success and tenacity of business owners.” said Aparna Sarin, managing vice president for small business card at Capital One. “We are thrilled to introduce this limited time offer that will help new customers maximize the rewards they can earn by amping up the power of unlimited 2% cash back and the spending capacity of the Spark Cash Plus card.”

In a recent survey, Capital One Business asked small business owners how they would use $3,000 to set their business up for success at the beginning of the year. The top five responses were:

  • 34% would purchase new equipment for their office
  • 33% would contribute to marketing or business development efforts
  • 27% would bolster their business savings fund
  • 22% would purchase something special for their employees
  • 17% would enroll themselves or their employees in a training or class
Capital One enlisted several partners, including Morgan DeBaun, founder and CEO of Blavity Inc., and Jonathan Bennett, actor and owner of Outbound Travel, to surprise fellow small business owners with $3,000 to kick off 2022. DeBaun surprised Mignon Francois, CEO of The Cupcake Collection with locations in Nashville and New Orleans, with $3,000 that she is using to invest in a shrink wrap machine that will help to speed up nationwide shipping. Bennett gifted $3,000 to Rick’s Restaurant & Bakery in Palm Springs, Calif., allowing them to offer spot bonuses to the dishwashers, prep cooks and line cooks who have kept the business going behind the scenes throughout the pandemic.
