Charleston 66, Norfolk 62 | Box Score

Charleston erased a six-point halftime deficit, outscoring Norfolk State 44-34 in the second half to stay unbeaten on the season. Only five Cougars scored in the ball game, but three reached double figures, led by Grace Abercrombie with a career-high 25 points. The freshman wing went 5-for-11 from behind the arc, adding six rebounds and four steals. Peyton Martin played big for Charleston as well, recording her first double-double this season with a season-best 19 points and game-high 10 rebounds. Tyler Collins was the third Cougar to hit double-digits, scoring 10 points with three rebounds and two steals. Charleston was outrebounded by Norfolk State 40-31, but the Cougars scored 26 points off 27 Spartan turnovers. Charleston is back in action on Tuesday as the Cougars return home to face Tarleton State at 7 p.m. (FloHoops).

 

Delaware 79, Delaware State 48 | Box Score

Delaware cruised to a 79-48 victory over Delaware state behind a 30-point double-double from Jasmine Dickey. Dickey tallied 31 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and a block in the contest. Ty Battle notched her third consecutive double-double, adding 14 points and 11 boards. Lizzie Oleary reached double figures, scoring 10 points while grabbing seven rebounds and recording a game-high three blocks. Makayla Pippen stepped up off the bench, contributing nine points and eight rebounds, while Tyi Skinner added eight points and four assists. The Blue Hens dominated in the paint, outscoring Delaware State 42-18. Additionally, Delaware held a significant advantage in points off turnovers as the Blue Hens turned it over just three times and the Hornets weren’t able to capitalize on any opportunities; however, the Blue Hens scored 20 points off 17 Delaware State turnovers. Delaware will wrap up the weekend by hosting Charlotte for a 1 p.m. (FloHoops) tip on Sunday.

 

William & Mary 65, George Mason 54 (OT) | Box Score

Sydney Wagner and Riley Casey combined for 41 of the Tribe’s 65 points in an 11-point overtime victory over George Mason. Casey poured in a season-high 20 points, 10 of which came in the overtime, helping the Tribe outscore George Mason 16-5 in the period. Additionally, she led the team with five assists and added three rebounds and two steals. Wagner led all scorers with 21 points, making good on all eight of her trips to the free throw line. She added four rebounds, three assists and one steal to round out her performance. Kate Sramac paced William & Mary on the glass, grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds along with five points, three steals and one block. Dani McTeer and Rebekah Frisby-Smith grabbed five rebounds, adding eight and six points, respectively. William & Mary shot 36.0% from deep, connecting on nine of its 25 attempts while limiting George Mason to 15.4% (4-26) behind the arc. William & Mary will head on the road to face Maryland Eastern Shore in its next contest on Tuesday.
