Department of Aviation issued the following announcement on Aug. 27
Attention all Virginia Aviation Ambassadors, especially those who have recently completed Gold-Level, the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors Awards Ceremony will be held at Hummel Field September 25, 2021 at 11 am in front of the DOAV trailer. Please check in at the DOAV trailer with Kim Wells or Betty Wilson to let them know that you will be participating in the ceremony.
This is a great opportunity for those who haven’t completed the program to get your passport reviewed and to get fitted for your leather jacket. You will be able to get a fly-in stamp and an airport stamp at this event.
Wings, Wheels and Keels will be taking place at Hummel Field from 8 am until 4 pm and admission is free. There will be static displays featuring airplanes, cars and boats. A remote controlled air show, food and craft vendors, a children’s carnival, skydivers, and Honey Wind Bluegrass band will be there to entertain and watching aircraft land and take off will provide fun for the whole family.
