Rep. Rob Wittman, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, recently shared several updates on his official activities through social media posts.
On June 9, 2025, Rep. Wittman expressed his support for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, stating “The Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day brings thousands of Virginians together each June to remove litter and debris from rivers, streams, parks, and shorelines across the Chesapeake Bay watershed.” He further mentioned his participation in this environmental initiative by saying he was “proud to join this incredible effort.”
The following day, on June 10, Rep. Wittman announced an upcoming radio appearance with WRVA Richmond via a tweet: “In just a few minutes, I’ll be joining @WRVARich on @NewsradioWRVA. I hope you’ll tune in!” This indicates his ongoing engagement with local media to connect with constituents.
Later that same day, Wittman informed constituents about available resources for federal assistance through his district offices. In a tweet he stated: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim?” He highlighted that while his offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open daily, mobile office hours would be held in Tappahannock to provide additional support.
Rep. Wittman’s tenure in Congress began after succeeding Jo Ann Davis in 2007. Before that role, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors between 2006 and 2007. Born in Washington D.C., Wittman is now based in Montross and is an alumnus of Virginia Tech.
