Rep. Rob Wittman, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, recently shared his thoughts on various legislative and national matters through social media posts. His contributions highlight ongoing efforts in fish conservation, Medicaid protection, and the celebration of American independence.

On July 2, Rep. Wittman expressed his support for the Sport Fish Restoration, Recreational Boating Safety, and Wildlife Restoration Act by stating: “The Sport Fish Restoration, Recreational Boating Safety, and Wildlife Restoration Act supports fish conservation & boating access.” He emphasized his pride in co-leading this bipartisan bill aimed at safeguarding fisheries and waterways for future generations.

In another post dated July 3, Rep. Wittman conveyed his approval of legislation designed to protect Medicaid for vulnerable communities. He wrote: “Today, I voted in support of legislation that protects Medicaid for vulnerable communities…” The statement also mentioned efforts to empower families and prevent significant tax increases.

On July 4th, he reflected on Independence Day with a tribute to the Founding Fathers’ vision: “Today, we celebrate the bold vision of our Founding Fathers…” He acknowledged the sacrifices made by those who have defended freedom throughout history.

Rep. Wittman’s career includes prior service in the Virginia House of Delegates and Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors before joining Congress in 2007 after Jo Ann Davis.
