Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing national observances and achievements. Wittman has served in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Jo Ann Davis.
On April 2, 2026, Wittman marked World Autism Awareness Day with a message about ongoing efforts to support individuals with autism. He stated, “Today, we recognize World Autism Awareness Day—a time to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring every individual with autism is seen, valued, and supported. I’ll continue working here in Washington and back home to expand opportunity and break down barriers.”
Later that day, he congratulated those involved in the Artemis II mission launch. In his post dated April 2, 2026, Wittman wrote: “Congratulations to all those involved with the successful launch of the Artemis II mission. This mission is a testament to American innovation and the enduring leadership of the United States in space exploration. On April 5, 2026, Wittman extended holiday greetings: “Happy Easter to all who celebrate! As we gather with family and friends, may this day be a time of reflection, renewal, and hope. Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and joyful Easter.”
Wittman’s career includes previous service in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007 before entering Congress.
He was born in Washington D.C., currently resides in Montross at age 64,
and graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
