Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents Virginia’s 1st congressional district, announced on February 10, 2026, that he secured funding to modernize public safety radio systems in rural Mathews County and highlighted constituent services offered by his district offices.
On February 10, Wittman posted: “Reliable emergency communications save lives. That’s why I secured funding to modernize public safety radio systems in rural Mathews County — improving coverage and interoperability during emergencies and disasters. In a separate tweet from February 10, Wittman addressed constituent services: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Tappahannock tomorrow to assist constituents with https://t.co/yAZUfuWOOk”.
Wittman has represented Virginia’s 1st District since 2007 after serving on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors and in the Virginia House of Delegates. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1959 and resides in Montross. Wittman graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
