Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on constituent services and youth engagement initiatives through a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 23, 2025, Wittman posted about resources available to residents of his district: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Tappahannock tomorrow to assist constituents with https://t.co/ZpGYIs6RRz”.
A day later, on September 24, 2025, he highlighted a recent event for students interested in military service: “Recently, I co-hosted the 2025 Service Academy Day with @RepMcClellan at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond. It was great to meet so many young Virginians who are eager to serve our nation in military service. https://t.co/wmyAsbLOmM”.
On September 25, 2025, Wittman announced his office’s participation in an educational initiative: “My office is excited to participate in the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) to promote a hands-on coding and computer science experience for the students of Virginia’s First District. The winning students will be eligible to have their apps displayed in the US Capitol Building https://t.co/rzqkgvHzZc”.
Wittman has represented Virginia’s 1st District since 2007 after succeeding Jo Ann Davis. He previously served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1959 and currently residing in Montross, Wittman graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
