Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted constituent services and legislative initiatives in a series of posts on his social media account.

On July 15, Wittman informed constituents about available assistance from his offices: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Warsaw tomorrow to assist constituents with casework.”

The following day, he emphasized efforts to protect local ecosystems and economies through bipartisan legislation: “Protecting the Chesapeake Bay ensures a healthy marine ecosystem and thriving coastal economies. I introduced the bipartisan MAWS Act to combat invasive blue catfish, support watermen, boost data collection, and create new market opportunities.” (Posted July 16.)

Later that evening on July 16, Wittman discussed recent defense-related committee action: “Last night, I voted to pass the FY26 NDAA out of committee. This bill delivers peace through strength–it supports servicemembers & accelerates key weapons systems. 20% of VA’s economy is driven by defense & Virginia is crucial to the US military.”

Wittman has served as representative for Virginia’s 1st District since replacing Jo Ann Davis in 2007. Before his tenure in Congress, he was part of the Virginia House of Delegates and Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors between 2006 and 2007. Born in Washington D.C., Wittman resides in Montross and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1981.
