Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of legislative and constituent service issues through his social media posts.
On September 29, Wittman highlighted his visit to St. Mary’s Hospital with members of Bon Secours, discussing healthcare investments under new legislation. He stated, “Last week, I joined members of Bon Secours and visited St. Mary’s Hospital to discuss how H.R.1 makes a historic $50 billion investment in our hospitals through the Rural Health Transformation Program. I am proud to support legislation that promotes innovation and long-term https://t.co/t0Lcv9KPN6”.
The following day, on September 30, Wittman posted about services available to constituents at his district offices and upcoming mobile office hours in Warsaw. He wrote, “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Warsaw tomorrow to assist constituents with casework. https://t.co/qRMxk7BRUq”.
On October 1, Wittman commented on the federal government shutdown’s impact on families and services: “This government shutdown is unnecessary and harmful – not just in Washington, but to the pocketbooks of hardworking families. Despite the chaos, I remain committed to delivering results, ensuring critical programs are available, and providing certainty for Virginians.”
Wittman has represented Virginia’s 1st District since 2007 after serving in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1959 and currently residing in Montross at age 64, he graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
