Rep. Rob Wittman, who has represented Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2007, recently shared several updates via social media regarding his legislative initiatives, personal milestones, and engagement with local business leaders.

On July 8, 2025, Wittman emphasized the importance of environmental conservation in a post stating: “Protecting the health of the Chesapeake Bay is vital to preserving its ecosystem and supporting our coastal economies. I introduced the bipartisan MAWS Act to tackle invasive blue catfish and support new markets that help protect native marine species.”

Three days later, on July 11, 2025, Wittman marked a personal occasion by acknowledging his wedding anniversary with his wife Kathryn. He wrote: “44 years ago today, my wonderful wife Kathryn and I got married. Happy Anniversary, Kathryn. Thank you for all you do – I am so grateful to have you by my side!”

Later that same day, Wittman highlighted ongoing efforts to engage with local businesses and promote economic growth. He posted: “Opportunities to hear directly from local business owners are essential to shaping policies that truly serve our communities. We had a productive roundtable with @USChamber, where we discussed pro-growth tax reforms that are helping Virginia entrepreneurs expand, hire, and”

Rep. Rob Wittman was born in Washington, D.C., in 1959 and currently resides in Montross. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates and served on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
