Rep. Rob Wittman, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, recently posted a series of tweets addressing constituent services and agricultural priorities in his district.
On August 3, Wittman highlighted efforts to increase accessibility for constituents seeking federal assistance: “Need assistance with a federal agency but are too far from one of my offices? Join a member of my staff on Monday in Colonial Beach for our mobile office hours at 9 a.m. Still too far? Contact my office and we will travel to a location convenient for you: https://t.co/JUurSZjR76 https://t.co/4KC2BCsxDo”.
Two days later, on August 5, he focused on supporting local agriculture: “Our nation’s farmers work tirelessly to keep the world fueled and fed. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with farmers and producers in the Northern Neck to discuss their priorities, and what I am doing in Congress to ensure they have the resources they need to continue https://t.co/74aT676VVb”.
That same day, Wittman reiterated his office’s availability for casework support: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Warsaw tomorrow to assist constituents with casework. https://t.co/zf5hlOrCx3”.
Wittman’s tenure began after succeeding Jo Ann Davis in Congress. He previously served both in the Virginia House of Delegates and on the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors between 2006 and 2007. Born in Washington, D.C., Wittman currently resides in Montross at age 64. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
