Rep. Rob Wittman, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 1st district since 2007, recently addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On January 3, 2026, Wittman commented on U.S. policy toward Venezuela and drug trafficking: “Drug trafficking at the hands of violent cartels, with the aid and abetment of the Maduro regime, has devastated countless American families. I commend the administration for taking decisive action in Venezuela to protect our national security, and I look forward to in-depth”.
Three days later, on January 6, Wittman shared condolences following the death of a congressional colleague: “I am saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague, Doug LaMalfa. Doug and I worked together as members of the House Committee on Natural Resources. He was a great leader, friend, and advocate for the constituents of California’s First District. My thoughts and prayers are with”.
Later that same day, he informed constituents about available services through his district offices: “Do you need help with checking on Social Security benefits, renewing a passport, or processing a VA claim? My district offices in Glen Allen and Yorktown are open every day, but my team is also hosting mobile office hours in Warsaw tomorrow to assist constituents with casework.”
Wittman has represented Virginia’s 1st District since succeeding Jo Ann Davis in 2007. Before joining Congress he served both in the Virginia House of Delegates and as part of the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 2006 to 2007. Born in Washington D.C., Wittman is currently 64 years old and resides in Montross. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.
