Keishana Washington Named USBWA National Player of the Week

 Drexel University’s Keishana Washington was named the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), announced Tuesday.
 
The graduate guard averaged 37.0 points per game on 56.5 percent shooting with 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per contest, leading Drexel to a 2-0 week. 
 
On Sunday, Washington had a record-setting performance, scoring a career-high 42 points to lead Drexel to an 86-82 win over Penn State. It marks the third-highest single-game scoring output in the NCAA this season, and the point total established a new Drexel program record. Additionally, Washington became the first player in program history to score 30 or more points in three straight games. She shot 13-of-21 (61.9%) from the floor while adding four rebounds, four assists and one steal as the Dragons knocked off their first Power Five opponent since 2016. 
 
On Tuesday, Washington tallied a game-high 32 points on 13-of-25 (52.0%) shooting with five assists and three rebounds in a win over Dartmouth. In the performance, the Pickering, Ont. native moved into third on Drexel’s all-time scoring list and became the first Dragon to record five 30-point scoring outputs before the turn of the calendar year. 
 
Washington leads the NCAA with 29.5 points per game this season, including a league-best six performances with 30 or more points, and she has reached double figures scoring in 44 straight games.
