Henrico County NAACP’s Freedom Fund Banquet

The Henrico County NAACP’s 2025 Freedom Fund Banquet will be held Saturday, September 6, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage, 8350 Hermitage High Blvd., Henrico. This annual event brings together members, civic leaders, advocacy partners, residents, and volunteers to celebrate and honor individuals, businesses, and organizations that champion justice and equality. Guests will enjoy inspiring speakers, meaningful discussions, and opportunities to network with those dedicated to positive change. Individual tickets are $75, with tables available for $600. Proceeds support the NAACP’s ongoing work in civil rights, community empowerment, and advocacy across Henrico County.

Bark in the Park Dog Walk 2025

Bark in the Park Dog Walk 2025 will be held Saturday, September 13, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway, Henrico, hosted by the Henrico Humane Society. This outdoor event features pet-related vendors, activities, food, and a friendly atmosphere for animal lovers. The highlight is the 2K dog walk, where participants and their dogs can enjoy a scenic stroll while supporting the Humane Society’s mission. Attendees can browse products, learn about pet care, and connect with other dog owners in the community. Registration is open now for those wishing to join the walk.
