Henrico County Public Schools, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health’s Richmond and Henrico Health Districts, will host free vaccination clinics at each middle and high school to help students meet immunization requirements for the 2026-27 school year. The clinics are scheduled from January through April, beginning on Monday, Jan. 12 at Tuckahoe Middle School.

Virginia requires certain vaccinations for enrollment in public schools. Students entering seventh and 12th grades must have two doses of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY): one before entering seventh grade and another after turning 16, before entering 12th grade. Additionally, a booster dose of the tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine (Tdap) is required for students entering seventh grade or those entering 12th grade who have not received it after age seven. Only rising seventh and 12th graders are eligible to receive these vaccines at the clinics.

A new procedure this year requires parents or guardians to complete individual online registration forms specific to each clinic before vaccines can be administered. Students may only attend clinics at their current school as sixth or 11th graders. Parents do not need to be present during the clinic.

Registration links and additional information are available at henricoschools.us/health. Families with questions are encouraged to contact their school nurse. The full list of immunization requirements is posted on the Virginia Department of Health website.

The winter/spring clinic schedule includes dates at all middle and high schools in Henrico County from January through April, with each clinic operating from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
