The County School Board of Henrico County, Virginia, has announced its upcoming meetings scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026. The board will hold a work session at 3:00 p.m., followed by its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Both events will take place in the New Bridge Learning Center auditorium located at 5915 Nine Mile Road in Henrico.
Closed sessions may be held during the work session as necessary. The meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend.
A Public Forum is planned during the monthly meeting, giving residents an opportunity to address the board on any topic concerning the school division. Citizens who wish to speak must sign up in advance using an online form or by calling the Clerk at (804) 652-3837 by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21. According to board guidelines, “Speakers who sign up in advance may not transfer their speaking spot to another individual. To ensure the School Board has the opportunity to hear from as many constituents as possible, it is requested that only one member of each household reserve a spot to speak.” Individuals representing groups can speak for three minutes and submit written comments from group members.
Written comments can also be submitted electronically instead of attending or speaking in person. These must be sent by noon on Wednesday, January 21 via the School Board webpage at https://henricoschools.us/school-board/ under “Connecting with the Board.” The same rules apply to written and spoken comments:
“Stakeholders must provide their name and HCPS school affiliation, if applicable.
Stakeholders shall use commonly accepted rules of courtesy, respect, civility, and decorum.
The use of obscenity or defamation is strictly prohibited and shall be ruled out of order.”
Written comments that meet these requirements will become part of the official meeting record and are subject to FOIA regulations. They will also be shared with board members before the meeting and posted publicly in BoardDocs where all meeting materials are archived.
