Henrico County Government announced several updates this week, including new developments for local parks, property ownership, and employment opportunities.
On September 11, 2025, Henrico County Government posted about park hours: “Three Lakes Park is open daily from dusk until dawn, and the operating hours for the nature center are:
– April-Oct.: Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– Nov.-March: Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.”
The following day, the county shared news regarding property development: “Henrico County has regained ownership of the 93-acre Best Plaza property, clearing the way for the selection of partners to lead an arena-anchored development along a prime stretch of Interstate 95:

Henrico County is home to a single public school district that enrolled over fifty thousand students during the 2023-24 academic year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among its schools with more than two thousand students (source). Black students made up the largest ethnic group in Henrico schools at nearly thirty-six percent of total enrollment during that period (source). Overall student numbers increased slightly compared to previous years (source), while Holladay Elementary School led pre-kindergarten enrollment in the county (source).
