Henrico County Government has issued advisories to residents regarding expected snow and possible power outages, according to a series of posts made on January 24, 2026.
In its first update, the county warned community members about upcoming hazardous conditions: “Community members are encouraged to limit their travel as snow is expected beginning tonight and to prepare for roads to be impassable beginning Sunday morning. Power outages also are expected. Crews are ready to begin road clearing as soon as conditions allow.” (January 24, 2026)
The government further instructed the public on emergency protocols: “The public is asked to call 911 only for emergencies and the Police Division’s non-emergency number 804-501-5000 for other health and safety needs. County officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and respond as community needs evolve.” (January 24, 2026)

Henrico County serves a diverse population that includes more than fifty thousand students enrolled in its public school district during the most recent academic year, with Deep Run High School reporting the highest enrollment among local schools. Black students represent the largest ethnic group within these schools, making up over one-third of total enrollment. The county’s pre-kindergarten population is concentrated at Holladay Elementary School.
These advisories come as part of Henrico County’s ongoing efforts to inform residents about weather-related risks and provide resources during severe winter events.
