Henrico County Government recently hosted a luncheon to honor older adults in the community, highlighting their contributions and celebrating the lives of several honorees, including the eldest attendee at 104 years old.

At the event on September 25, 2025, Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III addressed guests, stating, “We are grateful for your wisdom, experience and perspective,” and adding, “I want you to know that this county sees you.” Cooper continued his remarks by emphasizing respect for the senior attendees: “We don’t just see you, but we hear you, we value & respect you. We can learn from you & the life lessons that you accumulated across this vast wealth of experience. You are the foundation as we work together to build a better county, & a better future for everyone,” he said.

The luncheon recognized both individual achievements and broader contributions made by older residents in Henrico County. According to Henrico County Government’s post on September 25, “The luncheon highlighted the lives of honorees and recognized the contributions of older adults throughout the community, with the eldest attendee now 104.”
