Henrico County Government recently shared updates about local youth development programs and upcoming community events through its official social media account. The posts highlighted the 4-H program’s educational philosophy, an event featuring a gourd decorating contest, and an advisory regarding water transmission main field tests in Richmond.
On September 29, 2025, Henrico County Government posted: “As the youth development education program of the @VACoopExt, 4-H allows young people to participate in activities that emphasize 4-H’s “learning by doing” philosophy of youth development. The program’s mission is to develop leadership, citizenship and life skills.” This statement underscores the county’s support for experiential learning initiatives aimed at building essential skills among local youth.
In a subsequent post on the same day, Henrico County Government announced details about an upcoming event: “The event will also feature a gourd decorating contest and the option to participate in the ninth annual Crunch Heard ‘Round the Commonwealth initiative.”
Later that evening, residents were informed about infrastructure maintenance: “Henrico County is advising residents that the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities will conduct field tests Tuesday, Sept. 30, on a water transmission main along Hermitage Road in the city.”
