Henrico County Government has announced several recent developments, including a top rating for its mental health employment services and the opening of new businesses in the area, according to posts on its official Twitter account.

On April 30, 2026, Henrico County Government posted that “Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services has received a top rating for its employment services that are offered to individuals who receive mental health services in Henrico, New Kent and Charles City counties.”

The following day, on May 1, 2026, the county government shared news about business growth: “Henrico and @henriconow are pleased to welcome two new businesses to the county. Today, @SchewelsHome, a furniture store, opened its 52nd store at 3807 Mechanicsville Turnpike. Burger Haven opened its second location in Virginia at 8340 Brook Road.”

Henrico County is home to one public school district—Henrico County Public Schools—which enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among all schools in the county with more than two thousand students (source). Demographically, Black students made up the largest ethnic group within Henrico schools at nearly thirty-six percent of total enrollment (source).
