Utility teams from Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond are collaborating on a major infrastructure project, according to a series of recent posts by the Henrico County Government. The updates also highlighted community efforts supporting adults with developmental disabilities and recognized local leadership in public education.

On September 29, 2025, Henrico County Government posted that “Utility teams from Hanover, Henrico and Richmond are working closely throughout this project. Each will play a role in Tuesday’s tests to confirm the system remains stable and resilient ahead of the tie-in of the relocated main, which is planned for mid to late October.” This statement indicates ongoing coordination among regional utility providers to ensure system stability before an upcoming main relocation.

Later that day, another post quoted County Manager John Vithoulkas as saying “This place be forever known as the house that Nelson and Cashwell built,” referencing Varina Supervisor Tyrone Nelson and Superintendent Amy Cashwell. The remark underscores recognition for key figures involved in local educational initiatives.

On October 1, 2025, attention shifted to workforce inclusion for adults with developmental disabilities. The county reported: “Adults with developmental disabilities are finding fulfillment working on the mobile crew of Hermitage Enterprises. ‘Having the opportunity to show people what they can do … is just incredible,’ said Kara Williams, a developmental services supervisor.”
