Henrico County Government highlighted recent recognition for its Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) and the work of its Department of Community Revitalization, according to posts shared on December 16, 2025.

In a series of tweets, the county noted Director Eric Leabough’s acknowledgment by County Manager John Vithoulkas and referenced recent media attention: “Mr. Vithoulkas now is recognizing Eric Leabough, director of Henrico’s Department of Community Revitalization, & is noting that the county’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund recently was the focus of a story published by https://t.co/yJuzJ9kezS: https://t.co/FHS4exHdge https://t.co/A6jEsXdMtD” (December 16, 2025).

The AHTF has received additional visibility at industry events. Another tweet stated: “Henrico’s AHTF also has been featured at a Fannie Mae Housing Finance Agency Summit & at a National Council of State Housing Agencies event. The AHTF uses tax revenues from data centers to help reduce the costs of new homes for first-time buyers: https://t.co/eTsx4XKhRY” (December 16, 2025).

County Manager Vithoulkas praised collaborative efforts in housing affordability initiatives: “The work that the Community Revitalization team, the Partnership for Housing Affordability and program partners are doing is truly phenomenal.” (December 16, 2025).

Henrico County serves a diverse community through various public services including education. The Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year, with Deep Run High School registering the highest enrollment among its schools (source). Black students comprised the largest ethnic group in county schools during this period, accounting for more than one-third of total enrollment (source). Overall student numbers increased slightly compared to the previous year (source), while Holladay Elementary led in pre-kindergarten enrollment (source).
