Henrico County Government recently posted a series of updates regarding local initiatives, education funding, public safety alerts, and new business developments.

On April 15, 2026, Henrico County Government announced that “The Board of Supervisors approved a budget that provides millions in additional funding for Henrico County Public Schools, despite a drop in state aid for education. Supervisors challenged suggestions that the county isn’t sufficiently funding education.” According to data from the Virginia Department of Education, Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in the county and enrolled over 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year. The total enrollment for this period was slightly higher than the previous year at 50,383 students—a 0.1% increase. Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among all schools with 2,039 students. Demographically, Black students made up the largest ethnic group at 35.7%, followed by white students at 31.9%. Holladay Elementary School welcomed the most pre-kindergarten students (212), while Tuckahoe Elementary School led in kindergarten enrollment with 113 students. More information about these figures can be found on the Virginia Department of Education website.

On April 16, 2026, Henrico County Government issued a public safety warning: “A scam alert from Henrico’s Police Division and Department of Finance! To be clear, the county does NOT have a mystery shopper program.”

A day later on April 17, Board of Supervisors Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III stated: “We are thrilled to welcome McConnell Golf to our county and look forward to working with them on shaping the future of this cherished community asset in the Fairfield District,”

Henrico County continues to provide updates through its official channels regarding government decisions affecting public services and economic development.
