Henrico County Government announced on October 14 and 15, 2025, that the Board of Supervisors approved several measures during its recent meeting, including the vacation of a drainage and utility easement and the appropriation of funds for land acquisition.

On October 14, Henrico County Government posted, “After a public hearing, the Board has approved an ordinance that vacates a drainage & utility easement at 7709 Dartmoor Road. The property owners requested the vacation to enable construction on the property.” This decision followed a public hearing process.

Later that evening, Henrico County Government noted that “The meeting has advanced to the public comments portion of the agenda. Individuals watching remotely on WebEx can participate: https://t.co/E7ShnbXisu”.

On October 15, another post stated, “Moving to the general agenda, the Board has approved a resolution appropriating $2.15M for the purchase of 28 acres at 5301 Francistown Road, adjacent to Echo Lake Park and Echo Lake Elementary School.”

Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in Henrico County and enrolled over 50,000 students in the 2023-24 school year. According to state education data, Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among Henrico’s 68 schools with 2,039 students. The district’s enrollment saw a slight increase from the previous year. Black students represented 35.7% of total enrollment, making them the largest ethnic group in county schools, followed by white students at 31.9%. Holladay Elementary School enrolled the largest number of pre-kindergarten students in the county during the same period.
