Henrico County Government shared several updates on October 15, 2025, including details about a new water agreement with Cumberland County and the passing of Chesterfield County Supervisor Jim Holland.
In an announcement regarding regional infrastructure, Henrico County Government stated, “Under the updated agreement, Henrico will provide Cumberland County up to 7 million gallons of water per day from the reservoir or the James River at rates to be set annually.” (posted October 15, 2025).
Later that day, the county also acknowledged the death of a neighboring official. “Varina Supervisor Tyrone Nelson is noting that Chesterfield County Supervisor Jim Holland passed away earlier today following a battle with cancer. Mr. Nelson shared his condolences with the Holland family and with the Chesterfield Board & staff members.” (posted October 15, 2025).

Henrico County is home to a single public school district that enrolled over 50,000 students in the 2023-24 academic year. According to the Virginia Department of Education, Black students represented the largest ethnic group in Henrico County schools during that period, making up more than one-third of total enrollment. Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among local schools, while Holladay Elementary School enrolled the most pre-kindergarten students. The county’s student population increased slightly compared to the previous year.
