Henrico County Public Schools District serves as the only school district within the county and reported an enrollment of over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year according to data from the Virginia Department of Education (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Deep Run High School recorded the highest enrollment among all schools in Henrico County during this period with more than two thousand students. Demographically, Black students made up the largest ethnic group in county schools at nearly 36% of total enrollment, followed by white students at approximately 32%. The district saw a slight increase in overall student numbers compared to the previous year.
Elementary education remains a focus within Henrico County schools. Holladay Elementary School had the largest pre-kindergarten population among county schools while Tuckahoe Elementary led in kindergarten enrollment during the same academic year.
