Henrico County Government has announced a series of public events and meetings related to climate action and county governance, according to recent posts on its official X account.
On February 5, 2026, Henrico County Government posted details about upcoming community sessions at local libraries: “•Monday, March 2, 4:30-6 pm, Tuckahoe Area Library, 1901 Starling Dr

Later the same day, the county shared information about its ongoing efforts to address climate change impacts in the region. In a post dated February 5, Henrico County Government stated: “Henrico is developing the CAAS to guide the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and build community resilience in preparation for more frequent and severe weather resulting from climate change.

Henrico County serves a diverse population through its school system as well. According to data from the Virginia Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year, Henrico County Public Schools enrolled over fifty thousand students across sixty-eight schools (source). Black students made up the largest ethnic group in these schools with approximately thirty-six percent of total enrollment (source). Deep Run High School reported the highest student body among secondary institutions that year (source).
These initiatives and meetings come amid incremental growth in school enrollment within the county—up by about one-tenth of a percent compared to the previous academic year (source).
