Henrico County Government recently highlighted several community initiatives and upcoming projects through a series of posts on its official Twitter account. The posts focused on programs for older residents, community meetings regarding rural land preservation, and forthcoming infrastructure investments.

On October 13, 2025, Henrico County Government posted: “Henrico’s Outreach & Engagement Agency has commemorated Active Aging Week (Oct. 6-12) with activities & programs to promote health & well-being among older residents. Frances Bailey shows that staying mentally & physically fit benefits a person well into their senior years.”

Later that day, the county announced upcoming community meetings hosted by Varina District Supervisor Tyrone E. Nelson: “Varina District Supervisor Tyrone E. Nelson will host Varina Community Conversations meetings Oct. 20, 23 & 27 to discuss the New Market Heights Trail project & a proposed land-use designation to help preserve farmland & other rural properties in Henrico.

On October 14, the county shared information about an upcoming financial move to support public utilities: “Henrico is preparing to issue water & sewer revenue bonds to support projects that include initial work on a line to reinforce water service to the county’s eastern & central areas. Henrico County’s population includes a significant student body enrolled in its public schools. For the 2023-24 school year, Henrico County Public Schools enrolled over 50,000 students, with Deep Run High School having the highest enrollment among its 68 schools and Holladay Elementary School enrolling the largest number of pre-kindergarten students in the district. Black students represented the largest ethnic group in the school system, making up more than one-third of total enrollment, followed by white students. Enrollment figures have seen slight growth compared to previous years.
