Henrico County Government has announced a series of initiatives and upcoming projects in recent social media posts, including the celebration of Active Aging Week and plans for an innovative educational facility.

On September 24, 2025, Henrico County Government shared its plans to host events aimed at older adults: “Henrico will celebrate Active Aging Week from Oct. 6-12 by offering workshops & events to promote connection, volunteerism & healthy living among adults ages 50 and older. The following day, on September 25, 2025, the county highlighted a forthcoming educational milestone: “Scheduled to open in the fall of 2026, it will be the first K-12 Living Building Challenge structure in the country.”

Henrico County Public Schools District serves as the sole school district in Henrico County and reported an enrollment of over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year (source).
