Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) has announced that the Henrico County School Board will convene for a work session at 2:30 p.m. and a public hearing regarding the sale of real property located at 7850 Carousel Lane at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
According to HCPS, these meetings are open to the public; however, there will be no in-person public forum for this session. Citizens are encouraged to submit written comments online by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, through the School Board webpage. The submissions must adhere to rules of courtesy and civility and are subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The submitted comments will be shared with Board members before the meeting and posted on BoardDocs, where all meeting materials are archived. School Board meetings in Henrico County take place at the New Bridge Learning Center auditorium, located at 5915 Nine Mile Road. Closed sessions may occur during work sessions when necessary.
The Henrico County School Board consists of five elected representatives serving each of the county’s magisterial districts: Marcie F. Shea (Tuckahoe), Madison T. Irving (Three Chopt), Kristi B. Kinsella (Brookland), Ryan E. Young (Fairfield), and Alicia S. Atkins (Varina). According to HCPS, board meetings generally occur at the New Bridge Auditorium at 6:30 p.m., with agendas and supporting documents available in advance on BoardDocs—a web-based platform that also provides audio recordings and policies.
Members of the public can engage with the Board by submitting written comments online, emailing the Board, or speaking during public forums, as per HCPS guidelines ensuring courtesy and adherence to FOIA rules. Citizens wishing to speak at monthly meetings must sign up in advance, with each speaker limited to three minutes.
