Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) has announced that parents and guardians are invited to join School Board and superintendent advisory committees for the 2025-26 school year. These committees aim to provide input and support decision-making processes.

According to HCPS, families, staff, and community members are encouraged to participate in the bi-monthly Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Committee. This initiative seeks to strengthen connections between schools and the community while offering resources and support for families across the division. The meetings for 2025-26 will be held at various locations including Glen Allen Library, The Oak Avenue Complex, and Libbie Mill Library from 7-8 p.m., with virtual access available. Interested participants can join by completing an online interest survey.

HCPS provides a range of committees and advisory councils for parents, guardians, staff, students, and community members. These groups offer input on educational programs, policies, and initiatives. School Board advisory groups include several specialized committees such as the Career and Technical Education Business Advisory Committee and the Equity and Diversity Advisory Committee.

Superintendent advisory committees focus on various topics including auditing, multilingual learner support, federal programs, instructional materials, family engagement, policy review, and strategic planning. Additional feedback is gathered from teachers, students, principals, and support staff to address school concerns. External organizations like CodeRVA collaborate with HCPS to enhance learning opportunities.

Henrico County Public Schools serves over 330,000 residents in Henrico County, Virginia. It operates 74 schools reflecting the county’s diversity. The division is known for its academic excellence under its strategic plan “Journey to 2030,” which focuses on academic achievement among other goals. HCPS is led by Superintendent Dr. Amy E. Cashwell.
