Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced new appointments to a range of state boards in Virginia. The selections span several sectors, including agriculture, public safety, health and human resources, labor, and veterans affairs.
In the area of agriculture and forestry, appointments were made to the Sheep Industry Board and the Virginia Spirits Board. For regulatory matters, positions were filled on the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority.
Within the Commonwealth sector, new members were named to the Virginia African American Advisory Board. Health and human resources saw appointments to the Board of Social Work, State Board of Social Services, and Virginia Board for People with Disabilities.
Labor-related boards receiving new appointees include the Board for Barbers and Cosmetology as well as the Virginia Board of Workforce Development.
For natural and historic resources, there was an appointment to the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Outdoors Foundation.
Public safety and homeland security boards also saw changes. These included appointments to the 9-1-1 Services Board, Criminal Justice Services Board, Forensic Science Board, and Secure and Resilient Commonwealth Panel.
Finally, in veterans and defense affairs, Governor Youngkin appointed individuals to serve on the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Service Organizations.
